ΑΝTHESTIRIA 2018: STRONG MESSAGES FOR THE ACCEPTANCE OF DIVERSITY
Loyal to their meeting with the citizens of Yermasoyia and the wider Limassol area, the Anthestiria events have become a pole of attraction for all Cypriot and foreign tourists who visit Cyprus.
With the slogan “Different Colors, Different Shapes, One Bouquet – The Beauty of Diversity”, the multi-dimensional event of Anthestiria began on Saturday 19/5 and culminated on Sunday 20/5, with the parade of flowering chutes and hikers along the coastal road in the touristic area of Yermasoyia.
This event is incorporated in the broader activities of integration program “Limassol, one city the whole world” and was co-funded by the European Integration Fund and the Republic of Cyprus.
Consequently, the Anthestiria had a strong aroma of multiculturalism with the dynamic participation of organizations, associations and organizations of Third Country Nationals. The objective of the Yermasoyia Municipality was to transform the symbolism of Anthisteria into a resounding message for acceptance of diversity, social inclusion and obstruction of the marginalization of TCN’s, by directly promoting the interaction with the local population.
