MULTICULTURAL DANCE SHOW “THE ANGELS”

11/02/2019/in News 2019 /by netinfo

On the 10th of November, Agios Athanasios’ municipality organized an incredible, colourful show featuring traditional music and dances from different parts of the world.

The mayor, mr. Marinos Kyriakou mentioned in his speech that these kinds of events benefit with the integration of immigrants in our society, as well as with the acceptance of different cultures and nationalities in general. Agios Athanasios municipality has been a significant part of this cultural acceptance movement by organizing events and educational trips for third world nationals who live and work in Cyprus.

The dance show was in form of a story, in which the protagonists were two children living in a village Caucasus until a war forces them to abandon their home, separating the two children in different parts of the country. The two then go through an incredible journey to reunite, going through different countries and coming face to face with difficult situations, which they were able to fend off with the help of their “guardian angels”.

The event was part of the integration program “Limassol, one city, the whole world”.
